PROFILE:

Captain Lalor is a 1995 graduate of the USAF Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB, Montgomery AL. While there he earned his Masters Degree in Political Science from Auburn University at Montgomery. From June 1998 to June 2000 CAPT Lalor served as a strategic policy action officer on the NATO staff at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons, Belgium. From November 2003 to August 2005 he was assigned to Carrier Strike Group TEN as the Air Operations Officer for Harry S. Truman Strike Group, where he completed a deployment to the Persian Gulf. In September 2005 he joined the Navy Operations Group (DEEP BLUE) on the Chief of Naval Operations Staff in the Pentagon. Selected for air wing command that fall, he reported to Carrier Air Wing FOURTEEN as the Deputy Commander in March 2007.

Captain Lalor is a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received his commission through the NROTC program. He was designated a Naval Flight Officer the following year.

Captain Lalor was selected to fly the A-6E Intruder with VA-75 stationed at NAS Oceana VA, where he made two Mediterranean deployments aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67). Following an NFO-to-pilot transition in 1990, he deployed with VA-34 onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) to the Persian Gulf, Mediterranean and North Sea. In June 1995 CAPT Lalor transitioned to the F/A-18 Hornet and joined VFA-86 stationed at NAS Cecil Field, FL where he served as the Administrative Officer, Maintenance Officer, and Operations Officer. He made a deployment to the Persian Gulf aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73). CAPT Lalor reported to VFA-105 aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as the Executive Officer in February 2001. He commanded the “Gunslingers” from May 2002 to August 2003 and led the squadron through the opening phase of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. During his tour with VFA-105 he completed two deployments to the Persian Gulf.

Captain Lalor’s personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Air Medal (Combat V, two individual and four strike flight awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Combat V, three awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. During his career he has accumulated 3700 flight hours and 1014 arrested landings.
