AMERANG FARMER ATTACKED BY TUMAWO
Confesor says : — At Amiran, next to Cabatuan, his friend was ploughing his field, and he ploughed an edge that had not been ploughed before.
On making a turn, his carabao was halted, and immediately he was attacked by three tamao, who fought him, choked him, and left him unconscious beside a ditch.
A cousin, working in another part of the field, was surprised at the carabao stopping, and seeing nothing of the ploughman came over to investigate.
He found the man lying, his throat showing the marks of fingers. Attempting to raise him, he found him limp and helpless.
It was some time before he regained consciousness and could be assisted to the house, where he was put in bed.
At several times during the afternoon and evening he became excited and saw himself attacked. His mother gave him a whip to defend himself against his assailants. A medi- quillo was called, who performed babailan and the man recovered.
