Effigy burning of a drug addict capped this year's celebration of Drug Abuse Prevention Week. The said activity was opened by a parade of students carrying contesting slogans and poster slogans both in English and Filipino around the main streets of the town. An opening program was held immediately after the parade where rhe school held for the first time. an Intercolor Meet participated in by the members of the faculty and staff last Sept. 29 as a finale for the Intramural Meet. A parade around the main streets of the town opened the meet After the pai,3cic, ball games such as basketball, volleyball, and softball (men and women) and track events as 50 m dash, 100 m. dash; 200 m run. 400 m. run; 100 m relay and 400 m. relay were competed. The Blue Team emerged as a skit entitled "Sino ang Dapat Sisihin" was acted out by the members of the Student Government. Other activites during the week included essay writing, cornposo and commentary contests. Jay Pueyo of the Liberal Party and Rex Velarde of the Student Democratic Party triumphed over all the other candidates for president and vice president respectively in the Student Government Election hold recently. Jay Pueyo's contenders were Josefa Navarro of the Republican Party and Ruby Umadhay of the Student Government. The three-day Alumni Homecoming was highlighted by the coronation of "Miss Alumni '89. It was opened by a motorcade around the town which ended at the San SIG office constructed ??/ The Student Government of the school constructed its office beside the Social Studies building. SG officers and members of class 1988-'89 initiated its construction and was followed up by SG officers and members of class 1989-'90. The construction cost amounted to P30,000. Part of which was taken from the fund collected during the 'SG claigon' last year. Mr. Rodrigo Bibanco, Practical Arts teacher of the school and Mrs. Consejo Gonzaga, SG adviser supervised its construction. Lira Libutaque and Ernesto Bais were the president and vice presi. dent respectively of the Student Government of class 1988-'89 while Jay Pueyo and Rex Velarde are the present SG president and vice president respectively, the top position while the Students Democratic Party banking heavily on their vice presidential candidate was able to clinch six seats, The Republican Party got five seats in the Student Government, The fifteen senators who topped the election were: Madonna Palmes (Liberal); Niera Guicloriagao (Liberal); Rose Umadhay (SDP); Mary Ann Marquez (SDP); Soleclad Caballero (Independent); Christine Gil (SDP); Nieves Burao (Liberal); Daryl Redondo (Republican), John Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Church for the Thanksgiving Mass. The mass was concelebrated by alumni-Rev. Fr. Andres Sagra, Msgr. Higinio Velarde Sr., Rev. Fr. Amadeo EscananjParish priest and Fr. Tomas Terania, ass't. parish priest. The number of registered alumni during the homecoming is broken down as follows: Class 1945-8; '46- 3; '47-12; '48-20; '49-12; '50.6; '51-9; '52-16; '53-33; '54-21; '55- 55; '56-10; '57-29; '58-13; '59-10; '60-8. These classes paid P50 each for registration. Classes 1961-1984 paid P30 for their registration. The number of registered alumni for these classes were: Class 1961-7; '62-19:163-13, '64-8; '65-32; '66-24; '67-19; '68- 40; '69-16; '70-35; '71-4; '72-32; '73-11; '74-57; '75-17; '76-34; '77- A culminating program in connection with the celebration of "Linggo Ng Wika" was sponsored by the Filipino Club of the school last Aug. 21. The "Kapisanang Filipino" was inducted into office by Miss Lilia G. Fancubela, vocational school administrator I. Classes 1985 to 1988 paid P20 each for registration. The registered alumni were: Class 1985-5; '86-6; '87-6 and class 1988-7 The overall income during the Third General Alumni Homeccoming amounted to P108,076.65 from different sources as banners, rentals of tables, Search for Miss Alumni '89, sponsors, patrons. Ads for the sourvenir program etc. The expenses incurred during the affair totalled to P32,314.50 thus having a net profit for the Alumni Association of P75,762.15. The said amount is to be divided into two: Two thirds for the fencing of the campus and one third for the Alumni Scholarship Foundation. followed capped by a skit entitled, "Faustus."
