Mention Tenth Hon. Mention Closing rites bared Four major activities will formally end the school year 1996-1997 in Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School. On March 31, the Seniors' Day will be held. For the whole day, the graduating students will have a series of activities. The Holy Mass to be held in the parish church at 7:00 a.m. will open the day's activities. It will be followed by a parade around the major streets in the poblacion. A short program will be held at the school stage after the parade. Then a number of games will be participated in by 13 sections in the fourth year. The Seniors will have their lunch in their respective "kayang-kayang" or improvised shed put up by each section. Games will continue after lunch. The highlight of the day's activities will be a disco derby. The dance contest will be open to all sections in the fourth year. To thank God for His gift of graduation, the graduating students will offer a Baccalaureate Mass on April 2, at 7:00 a.m. at the parish church. As usual, the Mass will be officiated by Fr. Amadeo Escahan, the parish priest. At 1:00 p.m. of the same day, the school will have its annual Recognition Day Program at the community stage. To be honored during the program will be outstanding fourth year students and those students in the lower curriculum years, who demonstrated academic excellence and those who made outstanding achievements during the school year. The school will hold its 53rd Commencement Exercises on April 3, starting at 7:30 a.m. at the community stage. The holding of the graduation program will make the curtain fall for the school year 1996-1997. Recognition Day Program Scheduled April 2 Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School will hold its Recognition Day Program on April 2 at the community stage starting at 1:30 p.m. The program will be opened by a processional march of all honorees, together with their parents. To be recognized and honored during the program will be students from first year to fourth year, who made outstanding performance in different fields of educational endeavors during the school year 1996-1997. The first batch of honorees will consist of the top 25 graduating students who compose the Cream of the Crop '97. Some of the awards to be given during the program are Journalist of the Year, Historian of the Year, Outstanding FFP and FAHP Student Leaders, Red Crosses of the Year, and Outstanding Athletes, Red Crosses of the Year, and Outstanding Athletes. The award will be in the form of a medal. The last batch of honorees will be the top ten students in first, second, and third year who have demonstrated academic excellence during the school year. Invited to deliver the inspirational message to the honorees is chemist Remy Comago-Sunio, valedictorian of Class '74 of Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School. At present she is the Supervising Science Research Specialist of DOST Region VI. Also invited to grace the occasion is Cong. Licurgo P. Tirador of the third congressional district of Iloilo.
