MARCH 1997 The Glow 15 Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School opened its gates on June 6 to formally start the school year 1996­•1997. Although insignificant, the enrol­ment of the school increased from 2,799 last year to 2,807 this school year. Of the number, 1,344 are boys and 1,460 are girls. The 2,807 students were di­vided into 15 sections in the first year, 15 sections in the second year, 15 sec­tions in the third year, and 13 sections in the fourth year. Meanwhile, the number of enrolees in the Post-Secondary Education courses was 24. There was no major activity that happened in June. The attention of the faculty and staff, as well as of the stu­dents, was focused to the orientation of students on important matters af­fecting them, the cleaning of classrooms and surroundings, and the preparation the school for the tasks ahead. JULY 1996 Every year the school observes Nu­trition Month in July. The month-long observance of Nu­trition Month this year centered on the theme: Kapag kumain ng sapat, wastong timbang ang katapat. During the last week of the celebration, the Chapter Week of the Future Farmers of the Philippines (FFP) and the Fu­ture Agricultural Homemakers of the Philippines (FAHP) was observed. A series of activities was held dur­ing the week. On July 29, flag rituals were done during the flag ceremony. A nutri-quiz followed and it was won by Rieza Velarde of IV-A. Other contests held were essay writing, poster-slogan and skills con­tests. A closing program held on August 2 highlighted the observance of Nutri­tion Month and the Chapter Week cel­ebration of FFP and FAHP. Additional contests on vocal solo, composo and nutri-skit were staged during the clos­ing program. The observance of Nutri­tion Month and the Chapter Week of FFP and FAHP is jointly undertaken by the Industrial Arts, Agricultural Arts, and Homemaking Arts depart­ments of the school.
