MARCH 1997 The Glow 19 DECEMBER 1996 Everybody welcomes the advent of December with overwhelming opti­mism because it is the month of Christ­mas, the season of receiving gifts. However, in CNCHS, everybody enjoys every December because of the annual observance of High School Day. The Second High School Day was ob­served on December 16-17, 1996. The next day, December 17, the new Science laboratory building was blessed by Fr. Amadeo Escafian, the parish priest, at 8:00 a.m. The blessing rite was attended by Engr. Zinnia P. Teruel, regional director of DOST, mu­nicipal officials, and officers of CNCHS PTA. At 8:30 a.m., the CAT-I unit of the The two-day celebration opened with a Holy Mass at 6:00 a.m. at the school campus. A parade around the major streets of the poblacion followed after the Mass. Parlor games were played from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., a cultural show sponsored by the Glee Club of the school was held at the community stage. school presented its corps of sponsors for the school year 1996-1997. Presented were the 23 sponsors headed by Noemi Caballero, II-A, the corps sponsor. The guest of honor and speaker during the military activity was Dr. Je­sus Taberdo, acting assistant regional director of DECS Region VI. He chal­lenged the cadets and cadettes to strive for quality education.
