24 The GLOW MARCH 1997 New Mentors of CNCHS DELIA M. NOLASCO The new teacher of Homemak­ing Arts is a resident of Miag-ao, Iloilo. At the age of 38, she has main­tained her beautiful and charming looks. The former Delia Moreno is married to a seaman who also hails from Miag-ao. Mrs. Nolasco started her teach­ing career in Calinog Agricultural and Industrial College on July 16, 1982. After serving the school for 12 years, she applied for transfer to Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School because Cabatuan is nearer to her place of residence. Before she was absorbed by CNCHS, she was ranked together with six other applicants for a teach­ing position made vacant by the death of the late Mrs. Natividad B. Caspe. She outranked other appli­cants primarily because of her teach­ing experience, her having been a scholar to Philippine Normal Univer­sity, and her teaching competence. Mrs. Delia Moreno Nolasco be­came a member of the faculty of CNCHS on July 12, 1996. At present, she teaches Dressmaking. by Allan Madarico LUCIA S. BOLANOS The new but intelligent teacher of Mathematics is a resident-of the town, having been born in barangay Amerang to Mr. and Mrs. Buenaventura Bolanos. She finished her elementary edu­cation in 1977 at Apia Elementary School as class valedictorian. She ob­tained her secondary education at Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School in 1981. Since her first year up to fourth year in high school, she belonged to the top section. She pursued her Bachelor of Science in Education degree, major in Math­ematics, at Colegio de San Jose from where she graduated in 1986. To aug­ment her educational preparations, she earned 36 units in Master of Arts degree at the University of Iloilo. Miss Bolanos began her teaching career in Tigbauan National High School in Maasin, Iloilo on June 17, 1991. She served the school for five years. Eager to serve her Alma Mater, she applied for transfer to CNCHS. After outranking other applicants, she returned to the fold of her Alma Mater as a teacher on July 12, 1996. The new lady teacher of the school teaches Mathematics I. RUTH G. AGUERO During the school year 1996-1997, the school administration recognized the need to hire an emergency Math teacher due to lack of Math teachers in school. Math teacher-applicants were then screened and a lady applicant outranked them all. She is Miss Ruth G. Aguero. Miss Aguero is an alumna of the school, having graduated from Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School in 1988. Her elementary education was obtained at Tiring from where she graduated in 1994 first honorable mention. Aspiring to be a teacher, she en­rolled in West Visayas State Univer­sity where she obtained her Bachelor of Secondary Education degree, ma­jor in Mathematics, in 1992. As re­gards her graduate studies, she has earned 24 units in Master of Arts de­gree at the University of Iloilo. Regarding her teaching experi­ences, she had been a substitute teacher in Batad Polytechnic College from June 7-August 7, 1993. Again she had been a substitute teacher in Bololacao National High School in New Lucena, Iloilo from November 13, 1995 - January 11, 1996. Miss Aguero aspires to serve CNCHS, her Alma Mater, in a per­manent capacity. Three new teachers reinforced the faculty of Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School during the school year 1996-1997. The three are all lady teachers: one teaches Homemaking Arts while the two others teach Mathematics.
