THE GLOW, JULY-OCTOBER 1998 The Glow, July-October 1998. Official Publication of CNCHS - Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School Cabatuan, Iloilo, Panay Island, Philippines 12. 11m Gbw NOVEMBER 1998 Sports in CNCHS by: Maribel Lacerna Sports is fun. It molds us youth to become better individuals. It helps us to become smart, strong and healthy. It builds teamwork, discipline and perseverance. Sports helps overcome our fears and develops self confidence. Holding an intramural meet is one way to help students engage in sports rather than going with bad peers and engaging in drugs. It gives students the opportunity to strive not only in academic but also in physical activities. It gives chances to students to show their abilities in certain sports. This is also one way to screen students to represent the school in higher meets. Having intramural meets also breaks the monotony of the four walls of the classroom. In past athletic competitions, the Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School athletes proved that they could beat their counterparts. The school became champion in congressional meets and other higher meets. Akira Obed Caballero was chosen to be a player in Sepak Takraw during the Palarong Pambansa. Diana Mae Supeda showed her somersault in gymnastics that brought her to the Palarong Pambansa representing Region VI. On the otherhand Jeffrey Maglocot and Rommel Roxas threw their axe and deadly frontal kicks in taekwondo that bested therm in the Regional Meet. They are among the assets of the school. This is also a clear indication that Cabatuan National Comprehensive High school has positive attitude towards sports competitions. Seniors ruled badminton tourney The seniors, the champion when they were still juniors continue to hold the crown by grabbing the general championship in the recently concluded Intramural Meet at the Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School.
