U.S. Embassy Manila: U.S. Navy engineers from the USS Ronald Reagan made house calls throughout Iloilo City as they worked to restore power. Working tirelessly for three days, they were able to restore the electrical generators at two of the three local hospitals. “I am proud about what we did for the people of Iloilo,” said Chief Engineer Zosimo Francisco, “We saw firsthand the effect of the typhoon, the devastation. We met a lot of suffering people, who still managed to wave and smile. It’s very gratifying. We were welcomed in all the places we went.” (U.S. Navy photo)
